Yahoo Messenger inside Yahoo Mail
Long time back Google integrated Google Talk with Gmail and it made chatting easy as we need not install any additional messenger software and you can login to messenger from the mail page. Finally Yahoo has decided to integrate Yahoo Messenger with Yahoo Mail. Yahoo’s is even better than Google’s as everything happens within the tabs of Yahoo mail! And I personally like the interface of Yahoo as it uses drag and drop. All the features of Yahoo messenger (like converting the chat script to a mail) is now incorporated within Yahoo Mail beta. It’s not yet been released to all users of Yahoo Mail beta and they are releasing it phase by phase.

@jamshid, Right now, its only by invitation directly from Yahoo. So all you can do is just wait for it to be activated.
Please can you activate yahoo messenger inside my email asap.

@ jessica, As I had mentioned before you can use Yahoo Messenger inside your mailbox only by invitation as its not yet been rolled worldwide…In the mean time you can use the web based yahoo messenger which works quite similar…

My laptop has window vist home premiem, how ever i have yahoo massager version 8 is istuled. vista donsnt support yahoo. spicily when it get to typing. it cant chat in yahoo mail since it dosnt type half of alphbats. can you plaese chaeck if yahoo mail have any upgraded version to be incompitent with windon wista. cheers

Will yahoo ever make the change that chat sessions can be automatically saved in a chat folder? That would be very helpful instead of having to always click to save it as an email!

sometimes yahoo mail with messenger is just fine for me..
but sometimes it just doesnt opens up..

YM message archive saves the script on the computer that is being used. I go around and use different computers all over the place, so how would i be able to save my full archive? is there some kind of setting where i can check to save every chat conversation on yahoo server or something so that later i will be able to access my full archive from anywhere i want? pleease please i need help.

can someone PLEASE tell me how to delete this yahoo messenger from my yahoo mail, i do not wish it and i hate it being there and i can not close it off, it wont give me the option to stay off until i want it on, the only way it shuts down is if i log on to yahoo messenger directly - is there a way to make it NOT start up once i check my email? or is there a way if thats not possible to get it the heck off my yahoo mail?

i do not want any of these - i want a fourth option stating “do not log on from here!”
its really a pain in the azz because if someone leaves me an offline it wont save it AND if i log onto the real yahoo messenger to get it, its not even there - not even in the archives!!! which SUCKS since i lost an important reserch link for a client! - we should have the option of disabling it, rejecting the service from yahoo mail and not being forced to have it!
Lamb, you can successfully block it using Ad-Blocker Plus.
With ABP active and running (FireFox is the browser I did this upon), I opened it (by clicking on the ABP ’stop sign’) and sorted the items available on the page by ‘Type’, and then scrolled down to the ‘Script’ (JavaScript) entries; I located four items associated with the filter noted below, and enabled said filter for the page… and, voila - the thing is NO MORE!!

Even though that got rid of it, there’s another script, and a stylesheet, which could be worth investigating further as to whether or not they’re related to the issue:
