Microsoft seems to be little over confident with the selling of Vista in Europe. According to Information Week, the price of Vista is 65% more in Europe when compared with US in dollar. An upgrade version of a Vista is around US$153.99 in US and for the same version it’s around US$254.53 in Europe.
Maybe Microsoft thought that people in Europe are more loyal than US and they don’t care about how much the price is but it looks like they do. As of now there are nearly 6000 Britons have signed the petition to the UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair.
The petition states,
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to bring pressure on Microsoft to stop them overcharging the UK for its Vista Operating System…
I really don’t understand why Microsoft has to overprice their product in Europe. It offers Vista for lesser price in developing countries in Asia with starter pack to do some extra sales but offering at higher price is really unsubstantiated as it won’t cost Microsoft to transport the software product to Europe or it doesn’t increase the actual price of Vista just because it has to offer to European markets.

Just one question, How the prices differ from place to place? Taxes? or currency?
I guess its neither…People are furious because Microsoft is charging extra money without any reason
