IO2 Technology has come up with this new heliodisplay which actually projects any 2-dimensional image to appear as if it’s 3-dimensional. This mid-air projector is capable of producing a 30-inch diagonal (76cm) display area (4:3 aspect). It also hosts additional model in this series which has the capability of Interactive Cursor Control, which means one can move the cursor around the screen by moving it with your hand inside the image or you can grab an icon within the display. This helio mid-air projector can be connected through almost all video cables, VGA cables and USB with most 2D video sources (PC, TV, DVD, HDTV, Video game consoles). It does not need any additional hardware other than their projector.

The image is projected onto a cloud of microscopic particles and you don’t feel anything other than air if you put your hand inside the image. The images rendered looks a bit different and they are inferior in image definition when compared with CRT and LCD. They are working on this technology to improve the quality. Also, anything that is good comes with a price tag, so this cost US$ 18,100 for the M3 series and US$ 19,400 for M3i series with Interactive Cursor Control.
