What is the difference between Add-on Domain, Parked Domain and Sub Domain?

Blogging has become one of the biggest hobby during the recent times. This is also looked upon as a source of income by many and they all tend to have more than one websites covering different topics in each of them. But, often this doesn’t mean that he has to get separate hosting space for each and every website he owns. The advisable thing would be buy a single hosting space which provides addon domain hosting so that it is easier to manage all the websites from a single control panel and this also tends to be cheaper rather than buying hosting space for each site separately.
Some related domain terminologies: (What is the difference between Add-on Domain, Parked Domain and Sub Domain?)
Add-on Domain:
Add-on domain is just another domain name but hosted using the space of another main domain. Lets take for example, www.lytebyte.com is the main domain and I would like to host my other site, www.joelcaleb.com, using the space of lytebyte then www.joelcaleb.com is an add-on domain to the main site. But this new domain should have already been registered and the nameservers settings should point to the nameservers of the main domain. The contents of the add-on domain will reside in a folder under public_html.
The add-on domain can be accessed by different ways:
joelcaleb.com
lytebyte.com/joelcaleb
joelcaleb.lytebyte.com
Parked Domain:
This is similar to add-on domain except that instead of hosting another separate website, the parked domain redirects to the main domain. For example, if anybody have their sites registered with all the top level domain names (.com, .net, .org, .edu etc), they can use parked domain to redirect to the main domain. In this case also, the domain should have already been registered and the nameservers settings should point to the nameservers of the main domain.
Sub Domain:
A subdomain is just an extension of the main domain. It is used to create separate regions in the website to easily distinguish separate topics and used for easy access. For example, in this site all the posts about Vista can be accessed from vista.lytebyte.com or lytebyte.com/vista
The contents of the sub domain will reside in a folder under public_html.

I understood the first and third concept in domains and regarding the parked domains…if I have a registered domain like http://www.abc.com and I want to host another website like http://www.def.com then which is the best way, is it add-on domain or parked domain?
@Nirmal, As you have said, http://www.def.com is another website then you have to use add-on domain. If http://www.def.com is pointing (redirecting) to http://www.abc.com the you use parked domain.
