As the number of sites that interests us increases the numbers of feeds in our RSS readers also increase. But we would like to follow some feeds more closely than the other. It is possible to receive alerts in Google Talk when there is a new post in the feeds that we like.

Anothr is the Google Talk bot which gives the alert of feed updates when you are logged in GTalk. To get the alerts all you have to do is add the bot (another@gmail.com) as a contact. This will send an instant message with an excerpt of the new post from the site and a link to view the full feed.

You can manage your setting and subscriptions by chatting with the anothr bot or you can use the web link of another bot.

These are the commands which are helpful to manage anothr bot settings

To subscribe to a feed
+ URL (e.g. ” + http://www.lytebyte.com/ “)

- Feed ID (e.g. ” - 2 “)

You can also use anothr bot in Skype and Jabber. In Skype use anothr.com as the bot and in Jabber use anothr@gmail.com.
