The best add-on plugin in Firefox to manage the tabs that we browse is Session Manager. Session Manager can be set to open certain sites that we browse daily whenever we open Firefox. You can also save sessions so that you can open all these links at a later point of time when you need it. The best idea would be to save sessions based on category, such as tech related sites, networking sites, news sites etc so that you can open your favorite links with ease in times of need.
Though Session Manager can do all this, the best feature would be restore the sessions after a crash automatically or manually. It can also restore a tab that you accidentally closed recently. You can see the Session Manager options under Tools -> Session Manager.

Session Manager can also be set to save the form data including encrypted sites based on your privacy. If you are concerned about your privacy you can turn it off for secure sites or for all sites.
The other plugins in Firefox which may resemble this SessionSaver and Tab Mix Plus but considering usability and functionality, Session Manager replaces them. But this is compatible with Tab Mix Plus, so you can run this along with that.

I have been using this for sometime. But when I had a lot of sites, i found that nothing loads in time! So I reverted to the old ways
OR you could just use the inbuilt session manager in firefox. OR get Tab Mix Plus extension instead, which does it all and more..
