If you have Windows Vista, you might have wondered by looking at the boot screen. It looks somehow prehistoric to Vista, the boot screen looks similar to a DOS interface. But with a little tweak, you can get the aurora screen as the boot image. The new screen says ‘Starting Windows Vista’ instead of ‘Microsoft Corporation’ like in the default boot screen and the image looks consistent with the Vista look.

How to Get The Real Aurora Boot Screen?
To activate the new aurora boot screen, Click Start and Type MSCONFIG in the search box and press Enter. (Or Go to RUN and Type MSCONFIG)
Go to Boot tab and Select ‘No GUI boot‘ and Click Apply and OK.
Restart and you will have the new aurora boot screen.

Another tip using the same utility: Reduce the Vista Startup time and improving the performance by removing unwanted startup programs.

Nice windows tips…. Keep the good works.
any way to change resoultion on it to 1440×900 its nice but needs to fill the screen
Don’t do it…it will screww up your startup settings and youll have to reset anyway…
it works fine doesnt screw anything up at all
just doesnt fill the screen on my monitor
Can anyone post a screenshot? I’m on a Danish version, and nowhere does it say “No GUI boot”
Thanks.
