How To Open Last Closed Tab in Firefox and IE7?

Probably everybody knows to use Keyboard Shortcut Key to open a new tab and close a tab in Firefox. (For the sake of people who don’t know that, its Ctrl + T to open a new Tab and Ctrl + W to Close a Tab).

But disasters happen in browsers sometime! You accidentally close some tabs! You don’t know what tab was that and all that you can identify now is you have closed a tab accidentally. Firefox comes with a handy solution for this and it’s a Keyboard shortcut key. Press Ctrl + Shift + T and here comes the tab back alive and well.

Though Ctrl + T and Ctrl + W work in IE7, Ctrl + Shift + T doesn’t work. Probably you can use IE addons like ‘IE7 Open Last Closed Tab‘ which opens the last closed tab using the keyboard shortcut ‘Alt + X

Update: Ctrl + Shift + T works with versions above Firefox 2.0 only and it does not work with Firefox 1.5 (Thanks Jake for pointing it out)

  3. You may want to note that this only works with Firefox 2.0. I have stuck with 1.5 because a lot of my extensions as well as my current theme do not work with the newer version. I know I can modify the max versions, but this isn’t flawless.

  4. @Jake, Thanks for the information…
