Google Docs and Spreadsheets had a facelift recently and I should say it looks pretty good when compared with other usual designs that Google comes with. Since the data is stored online, Google Docs provide easy accessibility from anywhere provided there is internet connection.
Considering the reasons of easy accessibility many people are creating their docs directly through online applications but they often forget that keyboard shortcuts can be used even in online applications. The most commonly used shortcuts like the following can be used even in Google Docs.

Ctrl + C -> Copy
Ctrl + V -> Paste
Ctrl + S -> Save
