Here is yet another Firefox theme replicating the Vista Aero style. myFirefox is the theme which was developed to look like IE7 and here comes the new Firefox theme Vista-aero from the same author of myFirefox which claims to be the “The most IE7-like theme with Vista Aero Style”.

Though this theme has been developed from myFirefox and also by the same author, I am not sure why this was released as a different theme rather than a new version in myFirefox! Whatever it is, this theme has stolen the hearts of many people to take the top position in the popular themes list. Not to mention that its clone parent myFirefox is in the third position.
Let’s have a look at the top five popular Firefox themes.
Vista-aero and myFirefox has IE7 look.
Metal Lion – Vista has been created by combining the look of Vista and the style of Metal Lion themes.
Blue Ice (My personal Favorite) and NASA Night launch goes out quite good and merges with other windows looks when you use Vista.
So the real question here is why most of the Firefox users like their browser to look like Internet Explorer or to go well with Vista when they don’t appreciate either of it well, in the public?
Do the Firefox users like Internet Explorer and Vista after all? Is it just the false impression created in the public that Firefox users hate IE and Vista or anything from Microsoft?
I would like to see what you think is the reason. I will compile all the opinions and publish it in my next post regarding this. Original and Creative thoughts will get a special mention.
Update: Take the poll either from the sidebar or from the Poll Post

I think that a lot of people like how IE 7 and Vista look but not how they perform. That’s why you see a lot of popular Firefox themes that are IE 7 or Vista inspired.
@Brown Baron, Thats exactly was my view but it has found a shaking recently as Firefox also seems to be facing one or two issues like security and other like IE7 once in a while…
It’s because even though these people have many reasons to dislike IE7 and Vista, appearance is not one of those reasons. Vista is damn pretty, and most people know that.
Same Idea here. There is something that IE don’t have. But the appearance is sure a good one… Firefox is powerful and expansible, yet the appearance is the same all the time… If we can combine both of them together, we will get a great browser which have excellence performance and appearance.
Well the only reason behind it is looks..People like the Vista / IE7 look and not the features. You can even see that Vista themes for Gnome/KDE are popular among GNU/Linux users just because of the looks..
Would like to hear what the users of these themes have to say.. Btw just a suggestion, you could add a poll to this post so that readers(which do not post) can vote..
@Deepak, Thats a good point and a suggestion too…Will try it out…any suggestion on good polling plugins?
[...] poll is linked with the post, Why Popular Firefox Themes have IE or Vista look? I have stated couple of opinions as well as other readers of Lyte Byte. This is especially for the [...]
I concur with the views of others here. Vista is amazing in terms of graphical artwork and stuff, and that’s the reason behind so many such themes.
@Mr.Byte: You can try PollDaddy or WP Poll plugin
