When somebody says search and find it, the first word that flashes across the mind is Google. But most of the users never use it to the fullest potential. Google has one of the advanced search options though most of its features are known to only very few. One such feature would be using Google’s search box as a calculator.

Why would anyone want to search only in educational sites?

Recently I was left in a position to search for contents only from educational sites. When you do a research in school and you are trying to find some more literature on it to understand it better, you obviously tend to google it. Though educational pages tend to have high page rank and appear in the first few pages of search results, many commercial websites tune their website for particular keywords to get high SERP (Search Engine Results Page) benefits. And all these pages allow search engine bots to index them while it allows us only after logging in by paying some cash. But deep down you may get the same content what you were searching for from a university’s website for free.

So how to get Google Search results only from educational (.edu) sites?

After entering the word or phrase that you want to search, just add site:.edu at the end.
For example, “lithography in nanotechnology site:.edu”
