The beta version of new Yahoo Messenger 9 has been available for quite some time now. The cool features of this Yahoo Messenger 9 include nice interface with aero like look. Though most of the options are much like what we had in version 8, the new features like watching online video (like from YouTube, Yahoo video, Google video and other online video files) within messenger box or chat window, sharing photos from flicker are really amazing.
As they have not changed any other interface like the dropdown menu and options or preferences, you may wonder how to change the skins in Yahoo Messenger 9. So, how do you change skins in Yahoo Messenger 9?
Near the options for minimize, maximize and close, you will another dot like symbol which is for personalizing Yahoo! Messenger with different skins. Just click that button and choose the skins that you prefer and you are done. The default skins from Yahoo Messenger 9 are Graffiti, Green fantasia, Icy Blue, Purple, Twinkle Pink, Violet Flame, and Wood.
If you still haven’t checked out the new messenger, you can download the Yahoo Messenger 9 beta. Also dont forget to checkout the new Yahoo Messenger for Vista.
Yahoo Messenger 9 skins are really cool. I hope we get something like this in the coming versions of Windows Live Messenger.

hey yahoo messenger 9 looks too cool maan….with its new 7 skin option..dont know if we can download and more for this version.
I think its pretty cool, but I like the other one better because its a little easier. I like the cool skins but stay with the old if you have it. imo its not really worth it.
Well I think they could have made some better skins than this. I think the old yahoo is better in that dept.

This isn’t exactly “How to Change Skins in New Yahoo Messenger 9″, but closer to “How to Change THEMES in New Yahoo Messenger 9″…
All the themes are okay and all… Green, blue, purple, black, they look good I guess, but I agree with what one person said: “Bring back the Classic skin.”
Second off, what happened to creating your own skins? Yahoo 7 and 8 had that, even 8.5 had it. I liked keeping my window looking exactly like Mac OSX via the Classic skin, but even if there was no classic, I could just download a Mac Skin for Yahoo… With 9, you can’t do /either/ of those.

Your spelling was atrocious. It’s ‘ever’, not ‘every’, and ’supposed’. Also, since Yahoo did make their messenger, and own all license and trademarks for it, they CAN do whatever they want with it. If you don’t like it, it’s not their problem. It’s their program and they built it themselves. If they choose to change something with it, that’s entirely their choice.
Aside from skins, I have only one complaint with Yahoo 9. Grouped messages is the /worst/ feature ever. Get rid of that.
yeah im with Ashley Owens. using our own pix for the skins would be awesome. or just more colors. Red, White, Silver……….just sayin
I really dislike the aero look. I perfer the classic look and few. Yahoo just can’t stop screwing around with the look. If it’s not broken it doesn’t need fixing
how do you change it after the one where theres no button in the corner, cuz its really pissing me off(sorry), other then that its really cool:)
The new YM 9 somehow screws up Vista Aero theme partially, specifically, when YM 9 runs, the animaiton of minimizing and maximizing Aero windows no longer functions. When I reverted back to YM 8.x, Aeor functions normally again.
Can someone else verify this too?
