In Microsoft Excel, when you create a chart from the data, most likely the chart is presented it in Landscape. But when you are exporting and displaying those charts in Word, the orientation is most likely Portrait. To preserve the best look and structure of the chart, its better to change the orientation of the Excel chart from Landscape to Portrait.
So how to change the orientation of the Excel Charts?
In Excel 2007, Open the chart that you wanted to change its orientation. Click the Office Button -> Print -> Print Preview. Then from the ribbon click on Page Setup. From the Page tab you can change its orientation of the chart from Landscape to Portrait or from Portrait to Landscape.
In Excel 2003, open the chart that you wanted to change its orientation. Click File -> Page Setup -> Page tab. Similarly in Excel 2007, you can change its orientation of the chart from Landscape to Portrait or from Portrait to Landscape.
