Docking software are the popular way to emulate Apple Mac Dock in Windows Vista. Some of the best docking software available for Vista are RocketDock, ObjectDock, Y’z Dock, RKLauncher etc. Rocketdock has always been my favorite over ObjectDock as it is very light and good in performance.

So how to add Mac Leopard’s Fan and Grid Menu feature in RocketDock?

If you are missing the Mac Leopard’s fan stack or grid stack feature in Vista docks then you can Stacks Docklet to emulate it. Its nothing but Leopard dock stacks clone.

All you have to do is download Stacks Docklet and unzip the file to Docklets folder of RocketDock under Program Files. Then you can right click on the dock and select Add Item and choose Stack Docklet. Now right click on the new icon added and select Icon Settings. Choose the Folder you would like to display and an Icon for it.

If you still have not tried out docking software, you can download RocketDock from Punk Software. Stack Docklet may also work in ObjectDock, RKLauncher or in the future as Stacks Docklet is currently in preview stage.

Hi! I always thought ObjectDock looked prettier (shallow, LOL!) :). I never understood, why exactly is RocketDock better? And I shall try the stack thing soon.

@Dr. Suhas Rao, I have mentioned about Stardock in the post right after Rocketdock. I have tried both but I personally prefer Rocketdock as its more light weight.
