I always prefer to work with the same set of applications every time I use my computer. For example, I first load Office Outlook, My Computer, IE or Firefox and then followed by other files that I usually refer at work. Since I pretty much use this all the time, I am used to the location of these items in the Taskbar. If an application crashes, then all the items in the taskbar gets messed up in terms of the position.

So how to rearrange the taskbar items in windows XP or Vista?

Taskbar Shuffle is the application what you need. Its so simple and all that you have to do to rearrange any items in the taskbar is by just by drag and drop.

You can also reorder the icons in the system tray with this application and also reorder the grouped items.

With the new Taskbar Shuffle 2.5 release, you can use the middle-click to close the taskbar item like in Firefox.
