How to Disable Windows Vista Startup Sound?

Windows Vista In the last post we saw How to Disable Click Sound from Internet Explorer. But how many times when you start you laptop in the class room, library or work place you don’t know whether it is mute or not and you hear a loud  Windows Startup sound turning all the faces around to look at you? Then it might be wise to disable the windows startup sound in Vista, if you are not a big fan of it.

So how to disable Windows Startup Sound?

Go to Start button –> Control Panel –> Hardware and Sound.

Under Sound, click Change System Sounds.

Disable Windows Vista Startup Sound

Uncheck the option, Play Windows Startup Sound. Click Ok.

Next time when you start your PC, you will not get any startup sound.

Note: You can also remove unwanted startup programs to improve performance of Windows Vista.
