Its been a long time since we have Yahoo Messenger inside Yahoo Mail so that no matter which computer we use, we need not rely on whether Yahoo Messenger is installed or not. The online friends list is listed on the left sidebar under contacts. But friends who are offline or invisible are not listed there.

So how to send offline messages to those friends from Yahoo Messenger inside Yahoo Mail?

The answer is simple, it just needs one more step to go ahead.

Instead of clicking the arrow button under contacts to see the online friends list, click Contacts. Now you will be able to see all your contacts and other messenger friends who are offline or invisible.

Contacts List in Yahoo Messenger

Near each contact there will be a white circle if that friend is offline or colored one if your friend is online. Click that circle to open a new chat tab.

Now you will be able to send offline messages to your friends who are offline or invisible.

You can also get this chat tab, if you have any mails from that friend and by clicking the white circle near their email id associated with their messenger account.
