By default, Internet Explorer does not have any keyboard shortcut assigned to it in Windows Vista. Be it IE7 or IE8, we can assign a keyboard shortcut to open Internet Explorer. We have seen so many posts on the usefulness of keyboard shortcut for various applications and this idea is based on creating custom keyboard shortcut to open any application in Windows Vista.
So, how to create a keyboard shortcut to open Internet Explorer?
Step 1: Create a desktop shortcut of Internet Explorer in the desktop or under Documents if its already not there.

Step 2: Right click the shortcut and click Properties.

Step 3: Click the shortcut key section and press the key that you would like to assign as the keyboard shortcut for opening Internet Explorer. In this case, I have assigned Ctrl + Alt + I to open IE.
Step 4: Click Ok and now you can use this keyboard shortcut to open any instance of Internet Explorer.
