Good time or bad time, everybody in one stage or the other is looking for a better job and a better career. Job search can be tedious especially when you apply to all the four corners of this world but it can be better tracked and organized with a simple Excel sheet or OneNote Notebook.
So how to track Job search and Job Applications with Excel and OneNote?

This is a good template you can start with and change or add other sheets as you want. It comes with four sheets,
Resume Submissions – It has fields like Job Applied For, Company Name, Contact Name/Title, Phone, Fax, E-mail Address, Mailing Address, Web Site, Date Resume Submitted, How Resume Submitted, References Sent, How I Heard About This Job, Job Description/Keywords, Status of Application, Comments
Networking Contacts – It has fields like Acquaintance Name/Title, Company Name, Contact Information, Date Contacted, Comments, Lead Name/Title, Company, Contact Information, Comments
Interviews – It has fields like Interview Date, Interviewer Name/Title, Phone, Address of Interview, Mailing Address, Date Thank-You Sent, Comments
Career Websites – It has fields like Web Site, User Name, Password, Date Resume Posted, Date Cover Letter Posted, Comments
This template not only allows you to track the job search and job applications but also helps you to follow the good practice during this course.

This template its not as comprehensive as the Excel but its a different way of approaching the same problem.
