Why make an answer extreme when it can be simple :

Occam's razor principle , also Ockham's razor,] is the principle that "entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily."

Requirements documents have 2 purposes;

1.Explain what capability is required
2.Describe the contraints that need to be adhered to
Whatever you can do to trim your documentation? What are you saying that is unnecessary?
How can you use less words (and images) to deliver a clearer message?

Simplicity is the method. Clarity is the goal.

As Albert Einstein once alluted to :

" Of several acceptable explanations for a phenomenon, the simplest is preferable.”

@Davo, Its not that these instructions are not correct. There are different ways to achieve the same thing in Windows OS, what I gave was a quick short way of doing the same thing as what you have told in a standard systematic way.
