How to Find Alternative Words in Office Word?

OfficeWord Sometimes when you write an essay, a document or a letter you may be stumbled by a word and may be looking for an alternative word to fill in for the purpose of better statement or clarity. Like for example, statement in the previous statement. Well, with the inbuilt tools in Office Word you can find an alternative word to fill in.

So how to find an alternative words in Word 2007?

While writing the document, type the word that you are interested to find an alternative word. Highlight the word and go to the Review tab and click Thesaurus.

This will open the Research sidebar with alternative words and other meanings.

Using Thesaurus in Word 2007

From the drop down menu in the sidebar, you can also choose Encarta dictionary to see the meaning and the explanation of these words.

This is applicable to Office 2007 and Office 2010 but also maybe possible in previous versions.
