One of the feature I love in my HP laptop is the Bioscrypt Verisoft Access Manager that comes along with the Fingerprint reader. With thousands of websites and signups, it is really hard to keep with all the signup credentials so it is very important and prudent to use a manager and especially with a fingerprint reader to handle it. It is also prudent to backup those credentials on a regular basis and also when you upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.
Guide to Bioscrypt Access Manager
Software Download: In case you have upgraded your system from Vista to Windows 7 or from 32-bit to 64-bit, you may have to download the software again.
Bioscrypt Verisoft Access Manager Download sp35640.exe (This version is used in HP laptops and from HP. I have tested this both Vista and Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit)
Registering Credentials or Entering login id and Password Information
Go to Start –> All Programs –> Verisoft –> My Identity to open the Verisoft Access Manager.

If you have not registered your fingerprint data or the password for Verisoft Access Manager, click on Register Credentials on the left sidebar under My Identity. Click on the Fingerprints or Password to register the credentials (See image below). Just use the finger print reader as suggested to register the finger prints.

Click the Settings and Options to change the settings of Single Sign On and other general options.
Here you can use the verisoft access manager to login to Windows, advise to register credentials on logon, suggest to backup identity after changes and etc.

Under Single Sign On, you can change the settings to automatically detect the login page so that it can enter the login information and also set it to automatically record the user credentials or ask confirmation before recording credentials.

Saving Login Information and Using them
When you visit a webpage where you have to enter the login information and if you haven’t saved any login information before, enter those details and you will be presented with a wizard to save those details.
When you visit a page where you have to enter a login information and if you have already saved login information then you will be presented with the VeriSoft Logon Wizard and just swipe your finger on the finger print reader or enter the verisoft access manger password.

How to Backup the Identity Elements, Login Information and Fingerprint Data?
Go to My Identity page and click on Backup Identity.

You will be presented with Backup Identity Wizard. Choose all the information you would like to backup and click Next.

Enter the File location where you will like to save the backup data and also enter the Pass-phrase. Note: This is very important to remember, if you forget you may not be able to restore it. The backup details will be stored in the .osf format.

How to Restore the Identity Elements, Login Information and Fingerprint Data?
Go to My Identity, click on More… and click on Restore Identity. Here you can also Clear Identity for this account.

Browse the backup information in .osf format and enter the pass-phrase.

Hello Mr.Byte,
i can’t install the Biosoft Verisoft Access Manager on windows 7, i get a compatibility problem and it wont start… i tried to start it in windows xp sp2 mode, but that doesn’t work…
How can you run the programm (you say, you’ve downloaded it from the hp site, me too…) on Windows 7?
@Yunus, I have done a clean installation of both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 and i installed sp35640.exe from hp website. I ran in regular mode, and i did not run in compatibility mode.
Are you using HP or different PC?
I dont know if this would be of any help but, dont install anything as soon as you clean install windows 7. Use Windows Update and update all possible things that are available there. When I did that it updated all drivers including AuthenTec Biometric drivers. You might see new stuffs in Windows update after each restart.
So I installed verisoft 2 days after I installed Win 7.
Did you do this with Win7 RC or the RTM model. I had this running on the RC version however when I installed the RTM model mid August (again clean install) the drivers for hte device install fine but the Verisoft Biometrics software you reference above is blocked by the Windows kernal and will not even attempt to run. There were several programs that I had that due to some last minute changes found themselves blocked by Windows 7 RTM that ran fine on the RC version.
Anyone else have any luck?
… I also tried it, it is not working on Windows 7 x64 – Windows states a compatibility problem and blocks the Access Manager …
For me it’s also not working on Windows 7 RTM – hope they fix this soon. Can’t use the fingerprint sensor at all right at the moment …
I also tried it, it is not working on Windows 7 x64 – Windows states a compatibility problem and blocks the Access Manager …
Mr. Byte,
I have an HP Pavilion dv6526ea laptop with Vista premium 32 bit . I’ve had it for a couple of years . For some reason the Verisoft Access Manager does not start up any more with the Vista startup . I’ve checked the msconfig and there is a entry linking to ASTSVCC.dll , and this file exists . If I manually run “My Identity” from Startup-Programs- Verisoft , it will come up and request that I log on .
Can you help ?
Thanks .
There is an alternate fix i found by accident. most hp latops use a authentec reader and they have some win 7 compatible software. dont know if it has SSO features but atleast itll get windows logon working with your print again. says its for win 7 beta but works sweet with rtm. link below.

Hi,
I have HP 6715b. I am using Windows 7 professional 32bit. I tried the solution above but its not installed properly because of the compability problem. I can’t open “My identity” and I also tried the program in authentec.com but nothing change. Are there anyone who have a different solution?
I got dv6640ew with Windows 7 and i can’t install this soft on my laptop… compatybility problem as above. I search for solution too
I did an upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (32 bit) even though my processor is 64, windows won’t let you change in an upgrade only a clean install
I got the fingerprint working with verisoft for logging on to the computer only. It almost appears like the logon screen is not the windows 7 environment as it is not blocked there. Once the logon initiates, the “My Identity” program stops working.
I noticed the notes on the HP website state that they are working on updating drivers for Windows 7… I would assume that would include the “My Identity” or a similar program to store our passwords with our fingerprint. They do state (in a round about way) not to call tech support because they are not in the know of timelines for update releases.
I too hope it comes soon… but for now I am just changing my passwords everywhere to be the same… like the olden days of just a year or two ago.
Same sh*t here while trying to install the Verisoft Access Manager on my Windows 7 Ultimate.
Hoping for a quick solution of the developers.
