I tried the persona version, but it wouldn't accept my fingerprints. It always said to scan the finger slower, or center it.

I'm going back to try verisoft in compatibility mode. If not, I'll just have to enter my password like mere mortals do. :)

The Fingerprint reader is build into Windows 7. Controlpanel - Hardware and sound - choose Biometric. Here you can choose to use the Fingerprintreader in Windows.

I posted on Sep 29 . My advice after a lot of messing around - forget Verisoft and install RoboForm - it's a generation ahead , but you won't have the fingerprint reader .

Everything is correct above with exception of the one person who got it to work on the RTM version because it won't.
You currently have two options:

1) Download and install the Persona version (found by going to HP and going to the dv3501tx driver downloads) but this will NOT allow you to import your identy backup of VeriSofts app. But it will allow you to utilize the finger scanner.

2) You can wait until HP either contracts Cognizance to create a 64 bit version for update, or a retrieval application.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I had it working fine on Win7RC64 after installing it a couple of times and so thought it would work on Home Premium 64 as well. That is not so, as several people already stated. I find HP not helpful at all.
Since we all knew that Win7 was to come in October I expected HP to have drivers ready for the hardware they sold and not just shrug their virtual shoulders. As for now the fingerprintreader is useless.

I did an upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista (32 bit) even though my processor is 64, windows won't let you change in an upgrade only a clean install :(

I got the fingerprint working with verisoft for logging on to the computer only. It almost appears like the logon screen is not the windows 7 environment as it is not blocked there. Once the logon initiates, the "My Identity" program stops working.

I noticed the notes on the HP website state that they are working on updating drivers for Windows 7... I would assume that would include the "My Identity" or a similar program to store our passwords with our fingerprint. They do state (in a round about way) not to call tech support because they are not in the know of timelines for update releases.

I too hope it comes soon... but for now I am just changing my passwords everywhere to be the same... like the olden days of just a year or two ago. :)
