I’ve tried all the steps above and all the information i’ve provided is correct but i still get the same response “Send test email message failed”

Outlook cant connect to your outgoing SMTP Email Server

please help me out on what to do next coz i’ve tried this for more than 10 times already…..

I’m no idiot, but I cannot locate the “Deleted Items Folder Setup”. Please give details as to how to locate in Outlook 2007. I current have 4 different Gmail accounts being managed through Outlook.

I already had a gmail account and a google apps account set up in 2007 and did an upgrade to 2010. Now both of them don’t work – the tests say the method of authentication is not support by the server. My settings were and are exactly the same as ones listed here.

Odd, will digg deeper. So far I blame Outlook 2010.

Sorry Mitch whoever read my previous post — Outlook 2010 actually can configure a gmail imap account completely on it’s own – just add username and password, within a minute your google mail imap will be ready to use in outlook — see the offical 2010 blog for more info.

Actually Outlook 2010 has a third option for sent mail: DO NOT SAVE A COPY — I assume this means the server (gmail) will only save ‘it’s own’ copy and not duplicate.

@Mitch: I’m late to the party but what you are refering to is the automatic mail (POP) set up which is not applicable to Gmail IMAP in Outlook.
