So how to enable the missing games in windows 7?

Go to Start –> Control Panel –> Programs.

Click Turn windows features on or off.

Check the Games folder. You may also selectively choose the games you want. Click ok.

It may take a while to install these new services and then you should be able to view the games explorer under start menu from Windows 7.

To uninstall, just go back and uncheck the games folder and click ok.

Maybe this is a small bug or something in the beta version and I hope it will change in the RC and future version of Windows 7. In the mean time, if you are like me and would like the ratings to be higher, here is a quick fix. For some games you may need a higher base score, so this may be a possible solution for the time being.

So, how to correct WEI of primary hard disk in Windows 7?

Here is an example of how the primary hard disk is rated lower initially in Windows 7.

Go to Start –> Control Panel. In the search box, type Device Manager. Open Device Manager. Expand Disk drives –> Right click the drive name and click on Properties. Click Policies page and uncheck Write-caching policy.

Click ok and re-rate the components.

You can see that Primary hard disk was initially rated as 2 and now its rated as 4.6

For example, when you are in the page where there are lots of applications and the first application is highlighted but if you want to choose the next application, you just move the phone to that side with a bit of force. To select the application, move the phone downwards and if you want to go the previous page move the phone upwards.

You can also change the input modes, so that the selection moves if you just tilt the phone rather than applying a forceful move. This is much useful when you are selecting a big song play list or similar things. Also like Apple iPhone, you can change the direction of the screen from portrait to landscape or vice versa.

The best of all is that this input method improves the gaming experience, where you don’t click or press any buttons, you just tilt the phone anyway you want and the target moves. It’s just awesome! You need to have it to experience it. I guess this will be the best application for any handheld devices like mobile phones (especially higher end phones like Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, iPhone) with Symbian or Windows Mobile, Gaming devices like Sony PSP etc.

But Windows key is a nightmare for PC gamers as windows key lie between some of the most widely used keys for gaming and accidentally pressing the windows key while playing can ruin the gaming experience by jumping out to the desktop and opening the start menu. The best way to avoid this is to disable the windows key.

So, how to disable Windows Key?

1) Goto Start -> Run and Type Regedit and press Enter (In Vista, type Regedit in Search Box under Start)
2) Browse to ‘My Computer\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ Leyboard Layout‘
3) On the right hand side pane, right click and move over ‘NEW‘ and Click ‘Binary Value‘
4) This would have created a new entry with the name ‘New Value #1‘ with Type ‘REG_BINARY‘ and Data as zero-length binary value.
5) Right Click ‘New Value #1′ and rename it to ‘Scancode Map‘
6) Right Click again and click ‘Modify Binary Data’ and enter ‘00000000000000000300000000005BE000005CE000000000‘
7) Close everything and restart your computer.

If for some reason you badly wanted your windows key to work, just delete the new entry you made right now in the registry editor.
